The duo of Tómas Jónsson and Magnús Trygvason Eliassen has released two albums, traveled together across the world — and space — and taken part in countless adventures, both together and separately. This year, the duo will perform the album live at the Reykjavík Jazz Festival.
Once again, Magnús and Tómas take flight aboard their spaceship. This time, they drifted across the landscapes of North America — or more precisely, across the United States of America — where they encountered many strange and fascinating sights and sounds.
The album, which contains more tracks than there were pages in the now-defunct telephone directory, was created during their travels through these regions. Recordings took place in all kinds of locations, including concert halls, clubs, radio stations, buses, hotel rooms, hotel lobbies, entertainment venues, public parks, harbor baseball fields, recording studios, cars, shops, street corners, restaurants, and beside swimming pools, to name only a few.
A remarkable lineup of artists contributed to the making of the album, including:
Albert Finnbogason, Bjarni Þór Jensson, Carly Hoskins, Diner Diane, Ghostboi, Jökull Brynjarsson, Leanne Rosanne, Laurence Vidal, Luke Van Wyhe, Nanna Hilmarsdóttir, Óskar Guðjónsson, Parking Lot Stew, Ragnar Þórhallsson, Rakel Sigurðardóttir, The Pirates, Valdimar Kolbein Sigurjónsson, and The Streets of NYC.
