Los Bomboneros, the cheerful ambassadors of Icelandic Latin music, perform at the Reykjavík Jazz Festival on Wednesday, August 26 at 21:00 in Harpa Concert Hall, Norðurljós.
The concert is led by Sigrún Kristbjörg Jónsdóttir, conducting the big band version of the group, Los Bombasticos, performing many of the finest works by Tómas R. Einarsson — the beloved composer and bassist who can truly be called Iceland’s “Latin Farmer.”
Across more than 40 years of music-making, Tómas’s compositions have woven together jazz, Icelandic storms, and Cuban warmth. For this special concert, some of Iceland’s leading big band arrangers will dress these songs in vibrant new orchestral colors.
