Tu Ha? Tu Bjö! is an exploratory and experimental project by four horn players that has led them down uncharted paths in composition and improvisation. It is a meeting point between distinct composers and equally distinct performers.
The result might best be compared to a school of fish swimming together — coordinated and unified, yet at the same time free and seemingly directionless. The music moves through both shallow and deep waters, from colorful coral reefs down to the dark ocean floor.
In recent seasons, Tu Ha? Tu Bjö! has performed at a variety of venues across Reykjavík, including Mengi, Iðnó, Hannesarholt, and Djúpið, presenting their music to adventurous audiences.
For those who prefer listening at home, the group’s debut full-length album is on the way. It will feature familiar “hits” alongside unique moments captured directly onto tape.
Performers:
Tumi Torfason — trumpet
Hannes Arason — trumpet
Tumi Árnason — tenor saxophone
Björgvin Ragnar Hjálmarsson — tenor saxophone
